Unisa’s vision is consistent with its provision of a range of opportunities not only to recruit students and academics from other African countries in line with the SADC protocol (CHE 2004:162), but also to engage in research projects with a specific focus on Africa. Opportunities also exist to deliver problem –based curricular and research initiatives to address the unique challenges faced on the African continent such as HIV and AIDS, poverty alleviation, and the advancement of democracy. In so doing we deliver on our vision of engaging in activities that are “in the service of humanity”.
